In Maths, our children will explore both procedural and conceptual approaches, enhancing the effectiveness of our teaching practices by presenting concepts through various methods, deepening students' understanding of mathematical principles. At Laurance Haines, we pledge that we will encourage students to use exploratory talk, to encourage and deepen their thinking using mathematical language and have the support of a range of manipulatives, readily available to all pupils. Through using the White Rose Maths curriculum across Years 1-6, our children will have a strong sense of fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, facilitated by engaging in meaningful mathematical talk.
