In art and design, our children will learn a range of different skills to enable them to confidently create art. At Laurance Haines, we want to equip our children with the ability to express themselves through a wide variety of media and techniques. Each child at Laurance Haines has a sketchbook as we truly believe that being able to document ideas, knowledge and skills enables the children to experiment to create a successful piece of art. The use of art vocabulary is embedded into the art curriculum to support the children with their understanding of the topics and wider literacy skills. Artists from across the globe will be explored and celebrated, enriching the understanding of the cultural roots of different techniques and skills.
