SpLD Outreach Service Team
The Outreach Service team comprises Lynne Williams, Team Leader and three specialist teachers: Sheran Adlington, Sue Angell and Emma Lees , as well as the service Secretary: Amanda Barnes. The service is not currently fully staffed due to the ongoing review of the SpLD provision in Hertfordshire.
Lynne Williams, Base Leader, has been Head Teacher of two schools in Hertfordshire and has worked as a Consultant for both The Primary National Strategy and Hertfordshire Local Authority as a Consultant specialising in interventions to accelerate progress in literacy and numeracy, and the teaching and learning of English. Lynne is an accredited trainer for Numicon, FFT Wave 3 and High 5 and has the level 7 qualification in teaching and assessing learners with dyslexia/specific learning difficulties and the level 3 Elklan qualification. In her own time, Lynne is a member of the advisory education panel for The Dyspraxia Foundation.
Sheran Adlington is an experienced SpLD teacher in primary and secondary phase education within Hertfordshire and has been awarded OCR level 5 and 7 certificates in teaching and assessing learners with specific learning difficulties. She is a qualified trainer for the Hi 5 intervention. Also, she has achieved the National Award for SEN Coordination and for two years has been responsible for leading SEND in a good Hertfordshire junior school. She has experience of chairing local SEN cluster meetings and leading multi professional meetings in order to support inclusion of pupils. In addition, Sheran has been a class teacher for 14 years and managed the Access Arrangements for SATS within a Hertfordshire primary school.
Sue Angell has extensive experience as Teacher of pupils with additional needs and as SENCo at an outstanding Hertfordshire school. She has also worked in two other local authorities as a class teacher and has specialised in supporting pupils in challenging circumstances. Sue is an accredited trainer for FFT Wave 3, High 5 and Numicon. She has the level 7 qualification in teaching and assessing learners with specific learning difficulties (dyslexia).
Emma Lees has experience in primary, secondary and tertiary phase education. Until she joined the Base team, she was a SENCo at a good local primary school and has the National SENCo Award. Emma also has the Elklan Level 3 Award in Speech & Language Support for 5-11s and was chair of an ENF cluster group for 3 years. She has the OCR Level 7 diploma in teaching/assessing learners with specific learning difficulties (dyslexia).
Amanda Barnes in the lynch pin of our team, working as secretary/admin for us all. She can answer most enquiries from schools or will be able to pass your messages onto the appropriate team member.
